Ronald G. Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of beloved, Ronald Smith, on June 22, 2024, in Carlsbad, CA. Born on July 9, 1946, in San Mateo, CA, Ron lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, outgoing nature, and love for his family and friends.

Ronald served his country honorably in the Air-force during the Vietnam War. He later found his calling as a Surgical Pharmacy Technician and retired from Scripps La Jolla, where he dedicated many years to helping others and making a difference in the medical field. 

 Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Fran, and his two children, Kenny and Chrissy. He was a proud grandfather to Chanel, Sasha, Nanase, Isaiah, Eli, and a cherished great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren. He and a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Ron is preceded by his mother, Fern, his father Herschel, his sister Joy, his daughter Jennifer, and his grandson Joshua.

 His family, especially his wife Fran, were the joy of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

A man of many passions, Ron loved playing sports and working out. He was a devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. His enthusiasm for life and his teams was infectious, and he inspired those around him with his unwavering spirit. Ron will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A memorial service to honor Ronald's life will be held at Miramar National Cemetery on July 10, 2024, at 10:30 AM, with a reception to follow. Ronald will be remembered for his strength, his kindness, and the joy he shared with his family and friends.
